The Lir courses - Trinity College Dublin Acting and Theatre School

Applications for the undergraduate courses at The Lir Academy at Trinity College Dublin, have now opened.

There are three courses available:

1. Foundation Diploma in Acting and Theatre - http://www.thelir.ie/courses/view/foundation-course-in-acting

2. Professional Diploma in Stage Management and Technical Theatre - http://www.thelir.ie/courses/view/diploma-in-stage-management-and-technical-theatre

All applications can be downloaded from The Lir website and when completed are returned directly to the Academy. We do not go through the CAO system and entry onto the courses is not points based, it is based on talent. Both the stage management and technical theatre and the acting courses are subject to FREE FEES. The foundation diploma in acting and theatre is not.

There are careers in stage management, in sound design, in lighting, in costume, in scenic art and in stage construction. For anyone who has worked on school productions or productions within the community the Professional Diploma in Stage Management and Technical Theatre would be ideal. We do require that students have at least six months experience before starting the course.

The open day for The Lir is Saturday 5th December as part of Trinity’s Open Day. We will have a presence in the drama department at Trinity College Dublin and we will also have tours of The Lir and a presentation by the Director in The Lir during the day.
